Eran Ganot is the 21st head coach of the UH men's basketball program. At 33 years old, he is the second youngest to lead the Rainbow Warriors, Bruce O'Neil was 28 years old when he hired and began his four year head coaching career at UH (1973-76). A former UH assistant coach, Ganot returns to Manoa from Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Calif., where he served most recently as the associate head coach; earning runner-up in the West Coast Conference (WCC) standings; making an appearance in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT); and ending the season with a 21-10 record. The Rainbows have had a solid season and came into the NCAA Tournament believing they could make some noise and that they did by knocking off the PAC 12 opponent Cal on Friday night. See More

Although Jakob Poeltl has been a heavy focus of the Utes offense in the 2nd half of the season, Utah has balanced scoring with players like Bonam, Kuzma, and Loveridge, not to mention Taylor. Here is a double stagger action run out of the Fast Break looking to get a good look at the basket from the TOK. Option to hit the post man is also there and the shooter can look to curl if the defense trails the screen. This play came out of a timeout from South Carolina and shifted the momentum of the game. The key in this set is the ball reversals that make the defense ignore the weak side short corner. One of the most important concepts of attacking a zone defense is ball movement and attacking the gaps, but I’m a firm believer that screening a zone is even more dangerous. See More
