This play can be run as a continuity offense starting with a side ball screen. 1 dribbles off of the screen and passes to 4. 4 looks for the backdoor pass and if fhat isn't available passes to the wing to get into another side pick & roll. The Cleveland Cavs ran this inverted variation of the Horns set early in game 4 against the Toronto Raptors. Normally in a Horns set 5 & 4 set the ball screen up top with 2 & 3 in the corners. In this lineup the Cavs have 4 shooters spaced around LeBron James (3) so it was easy for the guards and posts to switch roles and still keep everyone spaced on the perimeter. 5 & 4 set pindown screens for 1 & 2 then cut to the corners. 3 turns the corner on the ball screen to look for a shot or any of his teammates spaced around the 3 point line. The Golden State Warriors used this play early in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to get a look for Klay Thompson (1) off of a post entry action. It's a great play to get the defense to guard multiple actions and get the ball back in your point guard's hands for a shot.
