Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a backcourt out of bounds play designed to handle a full court press with the ball on a side. We use the crossing action of #'s 2 and 4 to open up #2 coming up the floor. Otherwise, we look to read the screen set by #5 for #1 to get the ball inbounds. Favorite Send to FastDrawMurray State Head Coach Steve Prohm has taken the Racers to a 65-20 record entering his 3rd season at the helm. He is the fastest Coach in Racer history to reach 60 wins. This set play run in their MVC match-up against Belmont uses good spacing and ends with multiple passing options. The Racers are an exciting team to watch with Freshman PG Cameron Payne taking over the team. He is an explosive guard and does a good job reading the defense and getting everyone involved in the offense. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSanta Clara ran this double ball screen action the other night in their match-up against BYU. This is a good set forcing the defense to make quick decisions on who to guard. The end result is a wide open shot from the short corner on the weak side as the defender on the 4 man goes to far too help on the pin down screen. Santa Clara ran a lot of nice sets in this game and Coach Keating does a good job getting his players in spots where they can be successful in the offense. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a GREAT camp drill that I picked up at Al Skinner's Boston College summer camp. Mo Cassera, former Head Coach Hofstra, was the Coach Skinner's camp coordinator in 2008. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was late shotclock BLOB play the Trailblazers ran vs. the Thunder in their January 21, 2014 game. The Blazers take advantage of Batum's length and passing skills as the in-bounder and also the reluctance of the Thunder to switch any of the screens to get a lay-up for Lilliard. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a good down screen/flex action followed by an on ball screen. Options are 4 coming off 5's down screen, 3's flex cut, and 1's penetration off ball screen. Three scoring options are available on 1's penetration; 1 drives to basket, dishes to 5, or dishes to 3 for shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDave Rose is one of the most respected Coach's in Division I today and has made BYU a yearly threat to reach the NCAA Tournament. This play was run effectively at the start of the game as they get their 5 man Mika touches inside. What makes this play so effective is the cut by Haws as if he curls over the top of the 5 man, x5 is forced to step off and help as there is no weak side defensive help on the open side. The Cougars are also such a deadly outside shooting team with Haws who is the leading scorer in the WCC and 3rd in the nation. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is an on/ball set play the Portland Trailblazers ran vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves in their January 25, 2014 game. It takes advantage of Batum's passing skills coming off of on/balls. It also expoited the T-Wolves tendency to double Aldridge in the post while utilizing his interior passing skills to get an easy lay-up for Lopez. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUtah State MBB ran this set vs. UNLV on 1-22-14. This vintage set was made popular by the Utah Jazz in the 80's and 90's. Stockton, Malone and Hornachek ran this effectively because it incoporated the best shooters into little on big screens and if this set was not available Stockton and Malone could easily get into pick and roll action. Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is an out of bounds play we use late in the game, when a team is playing us M-2-M under. It allows us to create mismatches on teams that will swtich the screening action or we will hit the flex cut for a score. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis man-to-man set play is utilized out of the "Chin" alignment. Becaue the floor is spread it provides a great post-up opportunity for your best low post scorer while also giving you options to shoot a 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a great play when you need a post touch and score or foul. 4 comes from behind and calls "touch" as he sets a back screen on 5's defender. 5 comes circles behind to catch and score. Second option is ball reversal followed by dive and fill action. The goal is to get the ball directly in the post or on a high low feed. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSanta Clara plays in the WCC and Head Coach Kerry Keating has done a good job of revitalizing Broncos basketball. They achieved 24+ wins for the second time in 3 years in 2012-13. In their WCC match-up with BYU on Thursday night, they ran this Secondary Action which incorporates the use of a double staggered screen & the shuffle screen. There is a lot of player and ball movement in this set forcing the defense to react quickly. Taking advantage of the long hedge at the end of this play, the Bronocs were able to jump out to an early lead on the 3 pt play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a simple continuity motion offense that many college and high school programs run effectively. The key to this offense is hard cuts and timing of the cuts to create confusion/traffic. See More
