Favorite Send to FastDrawSyracuse currenty sits atop the AP & Coaches Poll as the #1 team in the nation. Their record is 23-0 and in the last weeks, the Orange have kept their undefeated record intact by defeating the likes of Pittsburg (2x's), Duke, & this weekend N.C. State. Jim Boeheim has been a sideline fixture with the Orange for the last 37 years, guiding the Orange to 30 NCAA Tournaments, 4 NCAA Finals Fours, and 1 NCAA Championship. This Low Stack Action has a lot of movement, gives the shooters a chance to use the rub screen for a possible wing jumper or gives the post a chance to get a touch inside. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOccasionally North Carolina's Roy Williams will pull PG Marcus Paige off of the ball and put him at the SG spot. This is exactly what he did in this play the Tar Heels ran in their win over Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. Furthermore, UNC big man James Michael McAdoo has been unstoppable on offense and continually fed him the ball in the post. Below you can see that the 3 screens McAdoo (4) into the post before setting the first screen of the stagger for Paige. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is an inside triangle set that can be run as a quick hitter or continuity offense. 3-4-5 are in a revolving screen and cut mode. 1 and 2 are available on the wings as receivers and passers into the post. Guards must move up and down sideline to occupy their defenders to allow inside scoring. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Portland Trailblazers ran this set off the opening tip in their game vs. the Indiana Pacers on February 7, 2014. It takes advantage of Damian Lilliard's ability to execute coming off of an on/ball screen as well Robin Lopez's knack for finishing at the rim. Depending on how the play is defended it also includes options for a Wesley Matthew's corner 3 or a pass back to LaMarcus Aldrige for a face-up jumber from just inside the arc. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a set that the Blazers have been running to get Wesley Matthews a shot of a shuffle cut or Lillard coming of a stagger screen as a second option. Great set to post up a big guard on the block or exploit a mismatch. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDuke ran this set vs. Pitt in their game on January 27, 2014. It requires a 4 that can shoot 3's and a 5 capable of finishing on the move after slipping an on/ball. This can be effective vs. teams that tend to hedge or trap on/balls. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Murray State Racers have in Cameron Payne a Freshman with ultra quick footwork and the ability to breakdown defenders 1 v 1. This set utilizes that quickness starting in a 1-4 low set and using the wing man to set a screen on x5 giving the 5 man a chance to sprint to set a screen thus eliminating help. Payne reads the defender, rejects the screen and attacks the post side where he rubs his defender into the post and throws up a floater to the basket. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis simple floppy action emphasizes a backdoor cut. As seen here, inverting the guards and posts (little to big screening action) may be preferrable for this outcome. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBelmont has gone from a NAIA school to NCAA Division I under Head Coach Rick Byrd who is in his 28th season in charge. This Horns set relies on "reading" the defense and attacking the right option with the end SPNR action. Belmont players are so fundamentally sound and in Windler, they have the leading 3 pt shooter in the MVC. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis sideline out-of-bounds play was run by Tom Izzo of Michigan State coming out of a time-out in need of a 3 to tie near the end of regulation in their game at Wisconsin on February 9, 2014. Adreian Payne, MSU's 4, knocked down a 3 to tie it with 10 seconds left. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWichita State frequented this play last year in the 2013 Men's Final Four. The first option is to hit 3 cutting off the post for a lay-up. If he isn't open, 5 steps out for a middle pick & roll and replace for 1. To see EVERY play Wichita State ran in the 2013 Final Four you can do so in my eBook Championship Execution! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis simple but effective SLOB incorporates a basline staggered screen to get a 3pt shot attempt. Can be used ATO or EOG. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Portland Trailblazers ran this set in their overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers on February 7, 2014. The Blazers were looking to get Wesley Matthews posted up on a smaller defender (George Hill). The second option is to bring Damian Lilliard off of a staggered double for a possible 3-pointer. The staggered double also serves a secondary purpose in that it occupies all three of their defenders making it difficult for them to help on Matthews posting up. See More
