Favorite Send to FastDrawBLOB, or baseline out of bounds, plays are wonderful opportunities for a backdoor action because the defense gets sucked close to their man as they deny a pass towards the rim. Georgetown's John Thompson drew up this great set to get a backdoor out of a baseline inbound situation, sucking the entire defense away from the rim in order to do so. Thompson isolates the man guarding the inbounder as well, turning him into the help defender on a backdoor. As many coaches know and communicate to their players, the offensive player inbounding the ball is always dangerous once the ball gets inbounded. By paying too close attention to the inbounder, a defensive team will have no help at the rim on a backdoor cut. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOff of the ballscreen motion, after the initial ball reversal the guard who receives a dribble hand off has an option to score backdoor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawDummy screens in the paint can occupy help defense while a backdoor cut occurs. Xavier uses that principle well out of a spread formation, making help defenders far too elevated to snuff out a backdoor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA good backdoor set from John Beilein and Michigan. Dangerous for a team with several shooters, and by keeping all five players elevated, there is very little help available at the rim. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawA lot of times off of an Iverson cut the ball simply goes to the wing. Allen Crabbe went off of the last screen and instead of popping out, he went right to the basket. If your team has an Iverson series, this is a good set to run to keep the defense on their toes. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWhen the Bonnies saw that Dayton was denying the elbow entry pass off of their Horns set, they started off the half trying to keep the defense honest with a quick backdoor cut for an easy two points. This set is a great way to set the tone for the half to let the opposing team know that you are not afraid of their pressure. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set encourages elbow action for guards to set up a backdoor opportunity when a guard (#3) is being face guarded. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNice after time out set, starting with Butler on the wing and both bigs screen for him toward the sweet spot or the center at the top of the key. After Butler clears the second screen, Gasol opens up an receives the pass form the point guard. Butler times this perfect in the video and drives hard off his outside leg and sprints to the rim for a lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is exactly like the action the San Antonio Spurs run. Because the Chicago Bulls like to post up Pau Gasol and he is an excellent passer, this set works well. Typically designed after a time out, Butler cuts off Gasol who receives the pass in the post. Giving Butler time to clear the cut is key, so the timing of the lob/backdoor cut can be perfect. Favorite Send to FastDrawGreat backdoor set by LSU to utilize Ben Simmon's skill set. Being left handed and a great passer, they have him dribble at the wing to the left and the player cuts backdoor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBackdoor counter to the traditional "Motion Weak" action that you see across the NBA. As teams begin to expect and overplay the ball reversal to 1, this play can be very effective for you. Can run off the break or as a set. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis backdoor play is great for teams that will either switch or deny the shallow cut to the wing for the point guard. Memphis ran this in the postseason last year against the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 2 of their series after they started Game 1 by pressuring Conley on the perimeter. See More
