Favorite Send to FastDrawA handoff followed by a ball screen is basically a double ball screen but it helps to get the player the ball even if they are being denied. Come off the ball screen and look to make a play for your yourself or a teammate. On the handoff dribble right at the wings defender and try to screen him as you hand the ball off. Wing needs to take a good angle to come off the handoff and ball screen, look to turn the corner on the ball screen if you can. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawAnother 'Post Up' from Coach Marty Gross' FastDraw Playbook. This box set gives you a lob opportunity and multiple screens in a tight space to confuse the defense. Coach Gross is the Associate Head Coach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and runs a great website for coaches called Marty Gross Basketball. Follow @coachgross on Twitter. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis roll closeout drill takes place in tight quarters and allows for a challenge at the rim. The Robert Morris MBB staff emphasized contact/collisions when putting this drill on the floor at their Elite Camp (June 21st, 2008). See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is designed to give one of your big man a chance for a shot from the short corner. It includes an unusual screen the screener action after setting a back screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMake this a competitive drill. Divide teams evenly. If the shot is made by the coach ball comes back out and drill starts over. Make defense find the offensive player first before going to blockout. Don't just run toward the rim. Additional ways to make this drill effective: Use Zipedo or other device to put on rim so ball can not go through the net. One of the most effective ways we have run this drill has been with an oversized basketball. The bigger basketball will make players grab the rebound. Also, the ball is difficult to make on the shot forcing a rebound situation. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawShippensburg University ran this play against it's PSAC opponents during the 2001-2002 season. It is a great play to run at the beginning of a quarter/half or after a time out. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawDuke ran a very nice curl set out of a timeout to get Tyus Jones an easy layup. A counter out of their normal set, instead of running backscreen into a ballscreen, they bring the guard around a curl and lift the big to the 3 point line opening up the lane. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. This play is best for teams with a passing big. Your point guard will have to be able to make shots coming off screens in order for this play to work properly. One of the keys for this play is as soon as the ball goes into the post, your 4 & 3 lift so they are in position to receive a pass if their man doubles the post. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAfter Syracuse's loss Saturday night to Michigan, I began brainstorming for some quick plays in a Need 3 situation. Almost everyone in basketball knows about America's play so I decided to draw an easy tweak to it. If there is enough time on the clock have 2 run off another stagger if needed. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawIf you are in need of a set play for a timely three then check out Vegas Door. Because most action and cuts off screens are horizontal, this play features a vertical cut up the floor. 4 and 5 are responsible for "closing the door" on the defender to create time for an open three pointer. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Cleveland Cavaliers ran this ATO-SLOB during the 2014/2015 season. Lots of movement results into a catch on the 3 point line and a drive to the basket with two players ready to catch and shoot on the strong side and one on the weak side. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night in their game versus the Brooklyn Nets, the Dallas Mavericks ran this baseline out of bounds their play during the 2nd Half. This is a great screen the screener set that my high school team ran this year; but we never added the second screen. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawI love catching old (if you consider last season old) games on NBAtv and trying to find some new plays to share with my readers. Last night I watched a few minutes of a New York Knicks Playoff game. I loved this action because it involved a big screening a guard into a pick & roll taking screen the screener a step further. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe San Antonio Spurs ran this play against the Minnesota Timberwolves three years ago in an end game situation. It was a simple yet effective play to get a layup, which worked because the defense had to respect Manu Ginobili coming off a flare screen. See More
