Favorite Send to FastDrawMonty Williams uses this play to get Ryan Anderson, a stretch 4, a three point opportunity coming off an elevator screen. They fake posting Anderson on the block and then dart him up through an elevator/ off a double screen to hit the open trey. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBilly Donovan runs this play for a stretch-4 shooter (particularly ran it for Erik Murphy this past year) to get a quick three pointer in the corner. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis was a Secondary Offense set the Washington Wizards would run if they felt they had a mismatch in the post with Nene. John Wall would push Nene, the trailer, backdoor, which indicated to the rim runner that he should raise and set a ballscreen. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawI am sure I have posted this play in the past but it is one of my favorites so I wanted to post it again! The Golden State Warriors went to this action in the 1st Half of Game 4 versus the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. This elbow set into a flex action is very popular in the NBA; Stan Van Gundy ran it religiously in Orlando. While us coaches are all very familiar with the Flex, I have learned recently that many young players today are not familiar with how to run the play NOR guard it. In my opinion, if you have two great scorers on the floor, this is a very difficult action to guard. The defense has to respect the flex cut give up a lay-up. Then by pinning down on the screener, the defense must make a decision how to guard and if they over-react the big will be open slipping to the rim. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawLast night during crunch time of Game 1 of the NBA Playoff Semi-Finals, the San Antonio Spurs were in a Need 3 situation versus the Golden State Warriors. Verteran Head Coach Gregg Popovich knew just the play to run. The Spurs executed this flex'ish screen the screener play to perfection to open up Danny Green for a 3-pointer. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a quick hitter that is run out of a box set and involves a little misdirection. In this play, 2 is your best shooter and you are looking for multiple opportunities for him to get the ball in a scoring position whether it be off of the flex cut, or off of the pin down from 4. If this play is executed properly, it could be a great asset to add to your offensive arsenal. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHouston ran this play in their 95-99 loss against the Lakers. It is a line set that allows a team to run the flex when the ball is passed in. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a play that is run from a low stack set. This is a great set to run to get you some good looks at the basket before you get into your motion offense. This is a great set because it gets you multiple looks for shots around the basket, as well as an option for a three pointer on the weak side of the floor. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSunday afternoon in their game versus the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Playoffs, the LA Lakers ran this Elbow Flex action to get a dunk for Dwight Howard. This elbow set-up into a flex action is very common in the NBA. However, I have rarely (if never) seen the 1 set the backscreen instead of coming off the pin down for a shot or dribble hand-off. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Los Angeles Clippers ran this in the second half vs. the Los Angeles Lakers in the Clippers 109-95 win on 4/7/12. It provides a post up for a 4 man coming off a flex screen from a 1, and a mid range jump shot for the 1, coming off a down screen from a 2. It is a counter to a stagger screen which the Clippers also used. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMake sure your 1 sets a good cross screen to get open of of the down screen from 4. Practice with your 2 on setting up his defender so he can get an open shot off of 5's pin down screen. This play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFriday night on ESPN the Boston Celtics had a nail bite victory over the Atlanta Hawks in Overtime. After few crucial turnovers late by the Hawks, Paul Pierce came through in the clutch once again hitting some big shots; along side Jason Terry. See More
