Basketball Play - UNI Shuffle Post Action

UNI Shuffle Post Action

Dana Beszczynski 11/23/2015

The Panthers have many players in their line-up who can play multiple positions and this set play (which also has a counter) is designed to get their 5 man Koch the ball inside. A quick hitting action with the DHO leading right into a shuffle cut backscreen action. Well designed and really moves the defense to make a quick decision how to help due to Bohannon's ability to knockdown the 3 pt shot stepping out at the TOK. UNI runs one of the most exciting offensive packages in the country and although Ben Jacobsen is known for his strong defense, their offense should not be underestimated. See More

Basketball Play - Kentucky

Kentucky

Dana Beszczynski 12/08/2015

John Calipari has had 26 of his Kentucky players drafted in the NBA during his tenure in the Blue Grass State. In 2012 his Wildcats won the NCAA Championship. Last season, the Wildcats finished the season undefeated, but lost in the NCAA Finals to finish the year 38-1 with a perfect 18-0 record in the SEC. Calipari has been a Dribble Drive Motion guru at Kentucky and has tinkered with the system to fit his skilled players. In the last years, the Wildcats have incorporated some different looks to the system, but still like the drive and kick action of the DDM. This is a Diamond set which when executed through can provide many different scoring options. See More

Basketball Play - Boise State

Boise State

Dana Beszczynski 12/08/2015

In his first five seasons as head coach of the Boise State men's basketball team, Leon Rice has taken the Broncos to the NCAA Tournament twice and won at least 20 games four times. They have a very tall line-up and their guards & forwards can interchange in the Broncos Offensive schemes. This is a Motion look with backscreens, ball screens, lots of movement and ball reversal actions designed to move the defense into multiple rotations. See More

Basketball Play - Sooner Weave

Sooner Weave

Dana Beszczynski 01/11/2016

Lon Kruger has taken 5 different teams to the NCAA Tournament during his coaching career and he is coming off perhaps one of the most memorable games in NCAA history last weekend with the 3 OT thriller against Kansas. This years Sooners team is exciting to watch and this Dribble Weave action creates good spacing and multiple shot options off the flat screen or SPNR action depending on what you choose to use. Basketball Play - UCLA Bruins

UCLA Bruins

Dana Beszczynski 02/15/2016

UCLA started the game off against Arizona State trying to get Isaac Hamilton (18.2 ppg) their leading scorer a touch early. Starting out wide and receiving a wide screen from Welsh, Hamilton works into a dribble flip action and immediately receives a ball screen as the defense tried to fight over the screen, Hamilton got in the lane to score on the floater. Basketball Play - UCONN Lady Huskies DHO/Shuffle Re-Screen Action

UCONN Lady Huskies DHO/Shuffle Re-Screen Action

Dana Beszczynski 11/18/2016

Geno Auriemma was supposed to be a re-building year after graduating Stewart, Tuck and Jefferson, All they've done to start this year is go 2-0. After a nail biting win over Florida State to open the season, the Lady Huskies knocked off the #2 team in the rankings Baylor. This play is a nice play to get Katie Lou Samuelson the ball off a shuffle cut, re-screen action. She cuts into the lane off Gabby Williams screen and then Williams quickly sets a second screen to free up Samuelson for a shot attempt. The UCONN Lady Huskies will be a team to reckon with yet again in Women's Basketball. See More

Basketball Play - Arizona Transition PNR Post Action

Arizona Transition PNR Post Action

Dana Beszczynski 03/18/2017

Sean Miller's Arizona Offense is very creative and provides his players with multiple cutting & scoring options. Out of this Transition action alone you have a DHO, Middle Ball Screen, and movement options that force the Defense into multiple rotations. At the end, the ability to have their 4 either step out to hit the jumper or post-up provides a finish to this action which is good for all levels of play. See More

Basketball Play - Virginia "5 Shake"

Virginia "5 Shake"

Dana Beszczynski 03/21/2017

This is an Offensive staple of the Virginia Cavaliers. This offense is so well run by the Cavaliers, they read everything so well and know how to move without the ball. Tony Bennett is such a defensive guru, but this Offensive action they run is really nice to watch and the continuity keeps it moving throughout the shot clock. See More

Basketball Play - Portland's 34 Horns Loop

Portland's 34 Horns Loop

Mark Travis 01/29/2013

The Portland Trail Blazers have one of the least productive benches in the history of basketball, but the Blazers are still in the playoff picture in the Western Conference because of how well head coach Terry Stotts manages his line-ups. Ronnie Price, Will Barton and Meyers Leonard is not a strong offensive trio, but Stotts stacks his rotation so that LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum can help this line-up produce offensively. Aldridge and Batum are two very versatile forwards, and you can see in this play how their skillsets bring an otherwise poor second unit to life. Video of the play here. See More

Basketball Play - Memphis' Marc Gasol Elbow Series (Part 1)

Memphis' Marc Gasol Elbow Series (Part 1)

Mark Travis 02/13/2013

Marc Gasol is one of the truly underappreciated players in the league. He's a solid post-up player, a decent shooter, the best big man passer in the league (with his brother being a close second) and he may very well be the defensive player of the year in the NBA right now. Memphis' offense is a cramped, inconsistent and often times ineffective collaboration of players who shrink the floor in an era that thrives on spacing it. When things go well for the Grizzlies, it almost always has something to do with Marc Gasol making a play for his teammates. Gasol is deadly from the elbows, as that position on the floor gives him a perfect vantage point of the floor and allows him to distribute from a high-low perspective. Here is one way the Grizz utilize Gasol's skillset from that particular spot on the floor. See More
