Favorite Send to FastDrawCoaches generally watch what other coaches use in their offense and if they like the action or think that it can be used for their personnel, they steal it. Kerr uses a set that Doc Rivers has been utilizing for JJ Redick to get an open shot. This set flows in transition nicely for the Warriors who like to run the "Phoenix Drag" screen in transition, and they get good shots out of it. Typically Steph runs the point in this set, but against New Orleans Kerr has Iguadola handle in order to get Steph a shot. Iguadola dribbles at Steph who cuts backdoor, then receives a ballscreen (Drag) and dribbles off of it. Opposite wing cuts hard to the rim pulling his defender with him, then Steph sprints off down screen for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWith John Wall going down with an injury, the Wizards turned to Bradley Beal to be a facilitator and scorer in his absence. Wittman setup a nice set to create movement and to get Beal coming off a dribble handoff and get an open look. First Beal passes to the wing and then cuts off a UCLA screen from the big at the elbow, and then sits down in the post. The guard on the wing passes to the elbow and sets a down screen for Beal who then receives a dribble handoff from the big and looks to attack. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis set has been run by the Clippers, Warriors & Wizards to free up a shooter on a pindown screen. I have seen this action run since Doc Rivers was in Boston in 2008. This set also has counters from the Clippers & Warriors. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns set designed to get dribble handoffs into a ballscreen to attack. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSteve Kerr has been my favorite coach to watch his actions all season after time outs and the playoffs have been no different. He runs great action here for a quick hitter shot, and a nice backdoor option. The biggest part of these sets is the fake dribble hand off to Steph at the top of the key, that fake freezes the big man's defender and allows for a clean pass. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOne of David Blatt's go to After Time Out sets, involving a quick dribble hand off and into a ballscreen with great spacing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a creative Horns Set that the Spanish team Valencia used in the Euroleague this year. They have 2 guard at the elbow with 5. 2 sets ballscreen for 1 and then dives to the rim, 5 steps up to receive pass. 5 hand offs to 3 and on the hand off 4 sprints out of the corner to set a ballscreen, causing a bad hedge. Favorite Send to FastDrawA set from the 2009-10 Atlanta Hawks under Mike Woodson, this set is a designed action out of a post up. Josh Smith at the 4 would get in the post and then Horford would screen for Marvin Williams to cut to the rim for a quick hitter. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawNice action into a ballscreen in an After Time Out situation by David Blatt. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA nice look for a quick lob and then back into pindowns for 2/3 man to get quick scores off of. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawButler ran this set when they needed a score against Texas Tech in their first round matchup of the NCAA Tournament. Designed for a stretch 4 to catch and go, the big man sealing really makes this play work. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawSimple action in a hand off, the only difference in how I label my plays with a dribble hand off in it is how long the play name will end up. If it is a long name then I will use "Mix or DHO" and if it is a shorter name I may use "Dribble." See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawStephen F. Austin ran this early offense almost exclusively in the first half of their Round 2 matchup with Utah. Utah switched all screens which caused issues for the Lumberjacks but they were still able to get quality shots. This early offense uses flex concepts to clear one side of the floor for a dribble handoff. Stephen F. Austin utilizes a 5 that can attack the rim off the dribble to allow for multiple options out of the set. See More
