Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is great quick hitter used after a timeout by Coach Archie Miller. I like this set because it uses some false motion followed with a screen the screener action that really puts pressure on the defense to communicate. As seen in the video clip below, the defenders do not switch correctly which leads to a wide open three. TIPS: Coaches incorporate false motion combined with STS actions! Give the defense a "dummy" look before entering your STS look. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCoaches - are you in need of a 3 against a zone defense? Add this set to your playbook! Our head coach at New Washington has used this play for 12 years with tremendous success. We primarly use this against 2-3 and 3-2 zones. This action creates a quick overload putting pressure on the defense to cover multiple areas. There is also a slip option if the defense is able to close on the shooter quicky See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawHorns set from Japan in the World Cup Qualifiers. Japan sets the play up for a follow cut or Maggette cut after the ball screen. This action stresses the weak side defender who must tag the roller, but also cover his own check. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA overload action used against a 2-3 or 3-2 zone. TIPS: Have your best shooter be the inside cutter to occupy the attention of the zones wing defender. In the video clip below, we ran this play against a 3-2 zone to begin the quarter. Notice how our 5 seals the bottom of zone creating an open area for 4 to find for an easy layup. Favorite Send to FastDrawThis BLOB has become our go to call against any team that likes to play zone in baseline out of bounds situations. In the video clip below we ran this play against a 2-3 zone, we were down two with 0:05 seconds left and were able to convert a "And 1" on the play to win the game. Although this play only has one scoring option, in the 2017-18 season we scored 12 out of 15 times when running this set! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBrad Stevens drew up this simple but effective set late in the game vs the Hornets in the preseason. It not only resulted in a score, but a crucial two-for-one opportunity that sealed the game. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawMoves on the Move In order to break down a defender on the move, we encourage all players to develop a go-to move and counter move. Consider the following points as well: 1. Maintain a speed of 80 mph (80%). 2. Attack the defense right between their eyes. Go right at them! 3. Make your move a stride or two away and attack the defender’s outside shoulder at 100 mph (full speed). 4. Finally, close the gap once you get by them. 5. Be sure to practice these moves on both sides of the floor!!! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOlympiacos Pireus' (Euroleague) new coach David Blatt ran this play during a pre season game vs Hapoel Jerusaler from Israel. The concept is to get a quick open 3pt shot, since defenders are trying to communicate and disrupt a quick pick and roll action in transition. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawXoach Xavi Pascual of Panathinaikos Athens (Euroleague) runs several misdirection/trick plays when his team needs to score. In this case, a misdirection step up pick and roll is set at the wing, while a flare screen is set on the other side for a 3pt shot. Video footage is from a pre-eason game vs. Romanian club Cluj. Favorite Send to FastDrawDuring the past decade, especially after the 2006 FIBA world championship, the pick and roll offense was given a newfound level of attention. The avenues with which you can go down when discussing the pick and roll are endless (angles, spacing, player development, proper defensive technique). Here are the common options which the other three players outside of the PNR action can be involved in. There are definitely more options for the “other 3” but these are the most common approaches teams use today. See More
