Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Chicago Bulls ran this quick hitter in Game 2 of their 1st round Playoff loss to the Wizards. 2 (Butler) does a phenomenal job here setting up his man like he is coming off the pin-down before knifing back for the lob. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the Day is a Horns Set leading to a dribble handoff on the wing. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis sideline out of bounds play is great for an athletic post player, and works well in a communication failure (hedge) or mismatch (switch) scenario. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFranklin Pierce MBB ran this multiple screening action set against the University of New Haven on 1-18-14. This set allows the offense to read and react to the backscreen/down screen action. The slip may be available. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a 1-4 low entry to get into a four-around-one offense such as flex or four-around-one motion. For more plays, check out my website www.coachpeelbasketball.com, sign up for a membership, and get your first 30 days free. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawWednesday night Kevin McHale drew up this quick action to get a score before heading into overtime of Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. With the defense so consumed with Harden possibly coming back off another screen from Smith, they left Delfino wide open for a lay-up. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPlayer must quickly move around defender or cone. Drill puts presure on player to catch, dribble and move to shooting area without traveling. Spend time working with players on using proper footwork. This drill helps players catch the ball in game like situations. Can never work too much on footwork. Being able to catch and put the ball on the floor is a skill. Like other skills it has to be drilled properly. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUse this IBCA box set from Thom Sigel at Rock Island HS to pound the ball inside to a post player. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the Day is a half-court set that focuses on getting the ball inside to a post player. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawBilly Donovan ran this Triple Stagger Screen set 3/7/15 vs. Kentucky. This set allows for two shooters to get multiple opportunities to use stagger screens to find open shots. The stagger screens come in three different locations and create different angles for shooters. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThad Matta ran this inbounds set 2/26/15 vs. Nebraska. 2 option inbounds set that uses a flare and down screen to simultaneously get shooters open. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this play midway through the 1st quarter of Game 2 of the 2013 NBA Finals verus the San Antonio Spurs. Setting two different angled screens is very effective, especially when the opponent is flat hedging the screens. Further more, setting the screens lower and lower also makes it more difficult to guard because make the rotations off of shooters to help much longer. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the day is a baseline out of bounds set from a line formation that gives quick scoring options, then sets up a corner 3 for the inbounder. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is the game winning SLOB the Utah Jazz used against the Cleveland Cavaliers on November the 5th 2014. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCleveland Cavaliers coach is probably working overtime with his FastDraw account. He ran this play with Maccabi Tel Aviv this past season. It will work really well for Mike Miller or James Jones. And if Ray Allen signs with the Cavs you could see Ray coming off the staggered screen and LeBron setting a lot more screens this season. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawFlorida's Billy Donovan has put in this new pick & roll set during the post-season to space the floor out for an effective side step-up pick & roll action. In this play, usually Frazier II (2) is being shadowed in the corner after screening 5 into the pick, thus X2 isn't fully on help-side. This gives 5 an open lane to roll hard to the rim. If Finney-Smith is in the game at the 4 spot and X4 decides to sink into the lane to momentarily help, 1 has the option to also quick throwback to 4 for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOption out of the Carolina break involving a high post feed and a big/little wing back screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a play that works well to get movement in your offense off of Zipper action. For more, check out my website www.coachpeelbasketball.com, sign up for a membership, and get your first 30 days free when you sign up for an annual membership. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Miami Heat ran this two plays back to back last in during Game 4 of the NBA Finals versus the San Antonio Spurs. A trend in the NBA that I love and many coaches don't follow (which I don't understand why) is running plays that work in succession. If a play works well once, why not try it again and make your opponent guard it? That is what the Miami Heat did last night, Option 1 was a quick pin down for Ray Allen which led to an easy floater in the lane. The very next possession down the court the Heat ran the same action but the Spurs did a much better job defending and the Heat had to deviate to a different play. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTake a couple of dribbles towards the top of the key. As soon as the defender shifts, quickly cross back over and drive baseline. Use same move to make 20 makes with runners on both sides of the court. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the Day is half-court set 5 of 5 in a series of 5-out "Need a 3" sets. This set works inside out to give your 5 a shot from the arc. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Triangle Offense depends a lot on the low post. When the low post is not open, here is a great option to get your best scorer open off a staggered screen for a jump shot or curl. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawPut a ball on each chair, have your players get low and grab the ball of the chair and take a large and long drop-step dribble toward the rim. Do this drill for either 30 seconds or 1 minute. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawCharger begins in a 1-4 high set. The 1 will enter to either 2 or 3. When the pass is made, the 1 will "UCLA" cut off the post at the elbow on his side, moving through to the block. 2/3 should pass to 1 for the layup if open. 3 cuts away to set his man up for reversal. 4 slides middle for a high cut and reversal from 2. 2 reverses the ball to 4, who has SEALED his defender with his foot to get open at the top of the key. 4 immediately reverses the ball to 3 who has made an "L" cut to get open at the opposite wing. On the reversal, 1 steps out to set a backpick for 2. 3 looks to 2 for a layup off the flex screen by 1. 3 should pass to 1 for the layup if open (unless the game situation determines that a three point basket is needed!). 4 and 5 position themselves to set a staggered double screen for the screener, 1. 3 looks to 1 for the open three point shot if open. 2 must widen to the corner if he has not received the pass. If x5 "shows" on the staggered double screen, 5 must be ready to "slip" immediately to the front of the rim for the layup. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the Day is a quick hitter run by Gonzaga in the 2012 NCAA Men's Tournament. This action gets the defense chasing before getting hit with a timely screen. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the Day is "Elbow Motion". Another great NBA ballscreen action! See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawOut of the double stack you can run a lot of different plays so it helps to keep the defense honest. It is up to the shooter to determine what side is best for him to come out on for the shot. The shooter can also drive an over close out or shot fake and pull up. Set good screens and read the defense. If the big helps too much on the screen look inside at the post. This play is from the 2005-2006 Duke season. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawToday's FastDraw Play of the Day is a great drill from the OKC Thunder! See More
