Basketball Play - Duke Horns High Entry Hi/Lo

Duke Horns High Entry Hi/Lo

Wes Kosel 04/02/2015

This play was used in the first half against Utah to get the ball to Winslow posting up. The play starts with an entry pass to Okafor at the high post. In the game, the Blue Devils turn the ball over. Nonetheless, this was a good idea by Coach K to get the ball to Winslow down low. See More

Basketball Play - San Antonio Spurs "Cross Elevator"

San Antonio Spurs "Cross Elevator"

Gibson Pyper 04/30/2015

Gregg Popovich has mastered the art of getting his second unit to run great after time outs/sets to open up the second and fourth quarters and he ran a great set against the Clippers for a 3 pointer. This set is an Elevator set for Patty Mills. Mills starts by passing the ball to the wing and cutting to the middle of the key. He fakes like he will set a cross screen for 3 to freeze his man and sprints through the elevator doors. See More

Basketball Play - Memphis Grizzlies SOG Hi-Lo

Memphis Grizzlies SOG Hi-Lo

Craig LeVasseur 05/06/2015

This was the opening play for the Grizzlies in Game 2 versus the Warriors. There is a lot of moment to this play and it presents multiple options, making it a great play to get your offense started. This play presents two opportunities for Zach Randolph to post up on either block, and really takes advantage of Marc Gasol's ability in hi-lo situations. See More

Basketball Play - Pittsburgh Stagger

Pittsburgh Stagger

Kevin Bruinsma 01/24/2015

Tied 72-72 with under 20 seconds left to play Pittsburgh ran a stagger action that free’d up #3 Cameron Wright for a wide open mid-range jumper to win the game. #3 Wright missed the shot, but Pitt went on to defeat Horizon League member Oakland in overtime. A small part to this action that I really liked was when the 1 passed the 4 man as he navigated down to the block the 4 showed his hands to the 5 man at the elbow as if he was expecting a pass for a shot. Even if he wasn’t an option in the play his attention to detail caused his man to at least play him as a threat which created a better angle for his pin down screen for the 1 man. See More

Basketball Play - Shallow

Shallow

Sebastian Wild 05/31/2015

SHALLOW is a great quickhitting play to helps you attack Zone looks with a simple, but hard to guard action, giving you either a wide open look from 3 or an easy, high percentage paint touch. It was our gp-to play vs. 2-3 Zones last season. See More

Basketball Play - Miami Twins

Miami Twins

Kevin Bruinsma 07/12/2013

One of the most popular sets in the NBA that everyone runs is the basic horns set with a ball screen and pop. The Heat ran this to get #1 Chris bosh a wide open look in the NBA Finals. After setting a ball screen for #15 Chalmers he runs off the 5's flare screen who dives to the rim. See More

Basketball Play - Quick Loop

Quick Loop

Kyle Gilreath 05/15/2013

This is another flex-ish set that the Golden State Warriors ran last night versus the Spurs. Rather than running the traditional flex, the Warriors spread out the floor and went into a quick 3-man game to get Stephen Curry a quick 3-pointer from a hand-off late in the 3rd quarter. See More

Basketball Play - Florida Gator PNR

Florida Gator PNR

Dana Beszczynski 11/30/2012

Florida is perhaps one of the best PNR teams in America as Head Coach Billy Donovan has really used this to make his teams more dangerous both under the basket and on the perimeter. Florida does a good job spreading the floor and using their personnel to get people the ball in spots where they can score. The use of the double screen really makes it hard on defenses to recover in time, not leaving a man open as Murphy is a dangerous big man who can step out and shoot the 3. See More

Basketball Play - College of Charleston Quick Hitter

College of Charleston Quick Hitter

Dana Beszczynski 11/26/2012

This play was run by the College of Charleston early in their upset win over Baylor. It is designed as a single/double screen to free up their best shooter Andrew Lawrence for a three pointer. In this situation, Lawrence chose to use the single screen set by Baru. Lawrence popped to the corner and got a wide open look at a three pointer which he knocked down off the pass from Stitt. Basketball Play - Blue

Blue

John Leonzo 06/26/2013

Here is another late shot clock play that was run in Calipari's first year at Kentucky. This set is a good one to run if you have a point guard that can create off the dribble and a post that can dominate inside. Very quick and easy action. See More

Basketball Play - Play of the Day 12-23-2011: Badger

Play of the Day 12-23-2011: Badger

FastModel Sports 12/23/2011

1 can enter the ball to either wing, in this case the 2. 3 begins cut across the lane. Throughout this play, 5 must work to get the ball so that the defender cannot offer help. After 1's pass to 2, 2 screens down for the opposite post 4, who steps high to receive the return pass from 2. 3 continues through the lane and locates X2 to set the back pick. 4 reverses the ball immediately to 1 who has broken out to the wing after holding the screen on X4. 3 screens for 2, who makes a flex cut to the block, looking for the layup. Again, depending on the game situation, we will take the layup if open unless we must have a three point shot. After 2 has cut through the lane, 5 and 4 set a staggered double screen for the screener, 3, who comes to the top of the key. 1 passes to 3 for the open three point shot. If x4 shows off the double screen, 4 should slip to the front of the rim. 2 should widen to the arc if the layup isn't there. See More
