Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a 3v3 Rebounding drill that can be used for both sides of the basketball. Split your team into groups of three or four. The rotation for the drill is to enter on defense, then move to offense, and finally (if unsuccessful) out of the drill. If your team secures an offensive rebound they get to stay on offense and continue to earn points. If your team gives up an offensive rebound then your team exits the drill and a new team comes on. The Scoring System: 1 Point for a Defensive Rebound, 3 Points for an Offensive Rebound, and 2 or 3 points if you can score it off the Offensive Rebound. Each new possession must start with one of the two scenarios depicted below. Coaches then set the number or time they want to play until. The team with the highest score wins, the other teams get conditioning. Blog Posts: Crash the Glass: Making a Case for Offensive Rebounding Developing a Rebounding System See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawGonzaga executes a common NBA tactice of a step up "Ghost Screen". The 4 sprints to his screen then slips to space behind the three point line. Gonzaga uses the cross screens from the wings as a wing to keep help defense out of the action. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawA Down Screen and a Cross Screen are used to move the defense. Then "Gap Clearing Cuts" by the 5 and 2 create a nice double gap for the point guard to attack. See video below. #FastModelMadness See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawAuburn uses its athleticism to spread teams out and attack double gaps off the dribble. Here they use the DHO and Swing Pass to get the point guard the basketball in space. The wing ball screen and subsequent spacing off the ball create a nice gap for the point guard to attack. See video below. #FastModelMadness See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawTennessee uses the high post Flare Screen quite often. Here they set up the Flare Screen by running "Spain Action" as a decoy to get their shooter coming off the flare screen. Another nice element to the set is the clear out by 3, which opens up driving space for the shooter on the catch. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawHere is a way to incorporate a dribble drive attack into your zone offense. Using a wing dribble entry, we shift the defense to the ball side, then set a backside ball screen to create a 2/1 on the backside. Favorite Send to FastDrawThe blur screen is an effective way to create a double gap in the defense. The pass and cut movement can create a temporary window for the basketball to attack into the heart of the defense. During the Shaka Smart years at Virginia Commenwealth, he used the blur screen as a secondary transition action. Once the ball is swung from slot to slot, the trailer then passes to the wing followed by a cut to ball side corner. This cutting action now opens a temporary double gap for the basketball to attack the elbow. See video below! Further studying: Creating with Blur Screens See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawUsing four out perimeter spacing we try to recreate game like situations in the short sided game (SSG) format. Here we have our most common actions within our Dribble Drive Motion system. Starting the SSG in a neutral scenario, it is up to the offense to use a pre-determined action to create A) a Double Gap and B) Drive the Basketball into it. Coaches can pre-determine the action or simply allow players to create freely. See videos below for game examples of these actions! Favorite Send to FastDrawThe progression of drills is really effective in this Boston College "Fast Break Concepts" video created by Coach Chris Oliver of @BballImmersion. The 4v4 Transition Drill that begins at about the 7:00 mark was one that I thought was particularly useful. The Offense starts with a slight 4 v 2 advantage and seeks to make a pitch ahead pass for a score. Whether the offense misses or makes, the defense will then take the ball back up the court 4v4.
