Favorite Send to FastDrawClemson ran this late in the first half of their Elite Eight game against Alabama to get a shot for Joe Girard. After the ball reversal to 4, 2 cuts off the down screen from 5 to look for a shot. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a counter to Box Slice 1 from Washington State men's team during the 2024 NCAA tournament. There is one variation to this that may get a ball hander with post and seal ability an easy 2. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis is a BLOB set from Washington State men's team that acts as a set up for a counter titled Box Slice 2. This has an option for a post diving to the basket for an easy 2 and a 2nd option to feed the point guard on the strong side corner for a 3 or safe inbound. See More

Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a misdirection set to create a gap drive. Using a slice screen to create a catch at the top the key, the action flows one way then peels back for a double gap attack. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 4-out alignment. The slice screen into the stagger is not original, but I think hard curling the first stagger and then running a second stagger is very interesting. It may take some time to develop, but I think it's likely the second player off the staggers can be open. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of transition. I like the dribble entry right into exploring the action from transition. Most teams rely on the wing entry so much, so eliminating that step here and there can help the offense run more smooth. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 1-2-2 alignment. This play has intelligent design. The down screens (not shown in the diagram) allow for clean wing catch. The UCLA screen allows the ball to be reversed cleanly. The slice screen is little on big, so the defense will have a hard time switching it. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and embedded video we look at a set play out of a 1-3-1 alignment. Some preliminary action sets up the screen the screener. The slice screen at the elbow is the first read, and hopefully draws some help defense, before the shooter comes off the stagger for a three-point look. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set play to create a driving lane, but there are plenty of options before the driving lane. You can score on the back screen, the stagger screen, or even the second stagger screen. Many options, but if none of those hit, you have the clear out to explore. Favorite Send to FastDrawIn this diagram and video clip we see a set out of a horns alignment. The set wants the defense to help on the screen in the paint, so that they are late getting through the screen-the-screener action. Against switching defenses, 5 wants to screen their own defender to free up the shooter. Video below. Favorite Send to FastDrawWe used a box set with the same initial action to start each play, and then used a numbering system to decide which option we would use. The series sets up multiple back doors, a rejected ball screen to an empty baseline and a stagger screen. I've had this installed every year I've been a head coach, and it works like a charm. Using the same movement pattern for each play allows you to install one play with five different options. Video clip below.
