This drill is a "Turnover-Killer." The drill presents a combination of 1. getting open and catching, 2. facing the basket while ripping the ball through and jab stepping, 3. Driving around defender, 4. Making decision to shoot or drive by second defender, and finishing the play with a basket. It also creates toughness and ball security. This is a good SLOB play with multiple options and reads. You want to have your best guard taking the ball out that way he has the option to cut off the back screen or refuse the back screen and get a hand off. Once you have burned the team off of the back screen you have the counter action to have the guard taking the ball out of bounds to use the hand off with the same weakside flare action. See More

This is a play that the Spurs love to run that features a "snug" pick-and-roll between Tony Parker and Tiago Splitter. The pick-and-roll action between these two is deadly - Splitter is one of the best roll men in the league - but just in case the defense can bottle it up (which is rare), the Spurs have some sweet weakside action that can punish the defense even if they do everything right. This play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season. For this play to be successful you have to have a bigger guard, or a post that can pass from the high post. Your 2 man has to act like he is cutting to the opposite corner and using 5 as a screen. Your 5 has to post hard so he is occupying his defender. You have to make sure that you utilize the weak side flare action so there is no help side defense coming from 4's man when 2 curls. See More
