The action was very simple as the horns set had a big cross screen right into a ball screen. With the growing amount of teams using the ball screen in today's game; we decided to implement a couple simple quick ball screen actions that were not apart of our basic ball screen movements. The Ball screen is one of the toughest actions to guard in today's game. We have found it easy to get a get quality look in the lane off our ball screen sets. In this flex option, 2 cuts up towards the top of the key instead of into the lane on the cross screen. 5 moves down to set the staggered screen for 2 cutting up for a shot. 3 passes to 2 for a shot at the top of the key. In this Flex Option from OKC, the ball is reversed to the left wing starting the flex action at the right post. 4 screens for 2 who cuts into the lane. 5 screens down for 4. Here are 4 Horns Options from Golden State. In option 1, Curry attacks the high staggered ball-screen from left to right. As Curry dribbles right, Bogut and Lee move down to the corner to screen for Thompson. If Curry doesn't have a shot, he passes ot Thompson at the top of the key. In option 2, Curry splits the high staggered ball-screen at the top of the key for a drive or shot. In option 3, Curry drives into the lane looking to pass to Bogut rolling to the corner or he can kick it out for a 3-point shot. In option 4, Igoudala moves to the right side of the floor. As Curry drives off of the screen, Bogut rolls and Lee pops. If Lee gets the ball, he looks to drive or pass out for a shot. See More

In this play, Rose starts with the ball and passes to the trail man then cuts to the opposite corner. The ball is moved to the right wing as 4 screens away for 2. If 2 isn't open, he passes to 4 on the pop as 1 cuts across the baseline around a staggered screen from 5 and 3. If Rose isn't open on the stagger, he cuts into the lane looking to get the hand-off from 4. Through all off the actions, Rose circles the entire floor forcing his defender to chase him around. Here are two stagger screen options from the Chicago Bulls. To intitiate the play, 1 dribbles left sending 3 across the floor. 3 loops around a staggered screen from 2 and 4 at the right elbow. The first look by 1 is to pass to 3 at the rim. In option 1, 3 cuts back to the right wing off of the staggered screen from 4 and 2. In option 2, 3 cuts off of a down-screen from 5 while 4 sets a flare-screen for 2. See More

Here are 3 stagger options from the Clippers. In option 1, 1 cuts off of a staggered screen and gets a hand-off from 5 on the wing. If 1 doesn't have a scoring option, 1 passes to 2 on the wing letting 2 look to penetrate and kick. In option 2, 1 uses the staggered screen and the bottom screener runs to the weak side off of a down-screen from 4. 5 dribbles across the floor looking to pass instead of the hand-off to the point guard. In option 3, 1 comes off of the staggered screen as tight as possible looking to get the hand-off from 5 inside the 3-point line. See More

In this option, the Clippers get the defense moving in opposite directions to get an open shot in the short corner. The point guard passes to 5 at the high post and cuts straight to the rim. As 5 dribbles to the left, 4 cuts to the right off of a staggered cross-screen from 1 and 2. 5 gives the ball to 3 on a dribble hand-off, and 3 looks to pass to 4 for a shot.
