Favorite Send to FastDrawVillanova is known for its 4 Out Motion offense. This set was ran in the Wildcats win against Kansas in the Final Four. This was a fake DHO to isolate the PG with crack back action for a 3. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThis play by Richard Pitino is a great misdirection set. It really tries to test the defensive team on the backside of the flare screen coverage. If the flare screen support is too much, defenders will be late on ball screen support. This became a money play with Minnesota down the stretch. The big that sets the ball screen can also slip it. If the defensive team stunts at the ball screen too hard, it is best to have a best shooter (3) on the strong side of the ball screen (the player who just came off the flare). Favorite Send to FastDrawCoach Alessandro Ramagli, Head Coach Virtus Bologna in the Italian A League, runs this set to use his combo guard Alessandro Gentile in the low post. It allows Gentile to finish at the rim or to attract traps. Gentile can pass the ball out for a 3pt look, or to Marcus Slaughter (5) hiding on the baseline. Click for more international XsOs! Favorite Send to FastDrawLate clock SLOB ran by the Denver Nuggets to free up Jokic to shoot a 3. Most teams don't run plays for their 5 to shoot a 3, so be creative with where you would line up your personnel, but the actions are very quick and tough to defend. Favorite Send to FastDrawTim Miles runs this many times throughout a game to get a hot shooter a shot. The shooter starts head under the rim. 5 sprints into a ball screen and slip. This leads to the shooter's defender having to tag and protect the slip, giving the shooter separation to use the pin down from 5 to get a shot off. See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawThe Toronto Raptors have followed the league-wide trend of introducing stack pick and rolls into their offensive playbook over the past two seasons. It leverages their best players' top skills, as their backcourt is tremendous in pick and roll scenarios, while Kyle Lowry in particular is a tremendous screener for his size. Dwayne Casey has implimented the use of stack pick and rolls by toying around with how the action is initiated, but has recently settled on going 4 flat along the baseline before lifting the screeners for the high ball screen. Favorite Send to FastDrawDenver Nuggets flow into different actions from their Transition Offense. Here is an action that incorporates a lot of things, including DHO and Ball Screen. Simple, easy, effective. More from Kevin Bruinsma: Utah Jazz - Defensive Game Plan See More
Favorite Send to FastDrawEnd of clock play, but can be ran in all situations. OKC utilizes it to get Paul George a three point look. Personally, I like the two post up options, however they were not looked for in this situation due to the time and score. More from Kevin Bruinsma: Utah Jazz - Defensive Game Plan See More
