Zipper Twist
05/31/2013There is no better way to end the week than with one last zipper action from the Indiana Pacers. They ran this play versus the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the ECF. The Pacers have had much success in pick & roll situations finding Hibbert on the role for points in the paint. This is an excellent way to set up a pick & roll for Hibbert. By placing a shooter (3) in the corner it makes helping on the roll of 5 harder because if the defense sags in a talented point guard will throw back to 3 for a shot. See More

05/29/2013Here is a zipper set that is run to get the ball in the hands of your best decision maker (1 in this play) and gives you plenty of scoring oppertunities. The spurs run a variation of this play with much success by putting Parker at the 1. Ginobli at the 2 (who can get a 3 on the extra pass from 3) and Danny Green at the 3. The skills of these players puts a lot of stress on the defense and makes this quick hitter hard to guard. See More

NBA Play of the Day May 13 from the San Antonio Spurs: Zipper Twist Special
05/13/2013Last night trailing the Golden State Warriors in overtime of Game 3 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals, the San Antonio Spurs ran this beautiful Sideline Out of Bounds play to get Danny Green an open 3-pointer. Coach Popovich did a tremendous job with the spacing of his personnel on the floor with this action. First, by slipping Tim Duncan to the rim, it forced the weak side defenders to help in the ane a little more. Secondly, with the defense already shifted in the lane, as Leonard sprinted out into the pick the Warriors' defense helped high which opened up a driving lane for Ginobili. With the defense focused on Duncan and Ginobili this opened up the flare in the corner for the knock down 3-pointer. See More
