In this diagram and video clip we see a SLOB to look to steal a basket with a slip set. Having the most lethal scoring option coming off the gate screen increases the chances the defense will overreact to it. I don't think it matters which of the two screeners slip, as long as both don't slip. They want to be watching their defenders, and if either one gets above the level of the screen, slip into the open space. This is a zone set using a 1-2-2 alignment. I love the play because if nothing materializes, you are left with a 1-3-1 alignment that plays well against most zones. The ball is entered to the wing, and the wing uses a drag dribble down the sideline to shift the defense. The ball is returned to 1 who dribbles to the other side of the court while reading the defense. The action is a stagger screen with a slip into the middle of the defense. Our primary look is the slip to the middle, but we would take the stagger if the defense didn't cover it. Getting the slip in the middle opens up many options for the offense - shot, kick down, kick out. See More

The UCLA Bruins ran this play late in their final four game against Gonzaga to get Jaime Jaquez a chance to attack the basket. After 1 makes the pass to 2 and the UCLA cut, 4 (Jaquez) pops out to receive the pass from 2. 5 slips the screen on the PNR with 4. 4 then turns the corner to attack the rim. Video clip below.
