01/18/2012The 8th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team bounced back from their first loss of the season to beat Virginia 68-61 on Monday night. Lynetta Kizer had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Terrapins (17-1, 4-1) in her first double-double of the season. Alicia DeVaughn added nine points, and she and Tianna Hawkins each added nine rebounds. Maryland, one of the nation's top rebounding teams, held a 43-33 advantage on the glass. The Terps also got 18 points off Virginia's 13 turnovers, while the Cavaliers capitalized for just nine points off Maryland's 17 giveaways. Next, Maryland will welcome Wake Forest (11-6, 1-3) to Comcast Center for a 7 p.m. matchup on Thursday.
