Dave Joerger used this play to utilize Tayshaun Prince well. Prince is a good ball-handler for a forward but lacks an outside shot; using him in the pinch post helped him find production on the court. The Grizzlies would run the play on this side of the floor almost exclusively so that Prince could dribble towards the dribble with his strong hand (his left hand).
Prince (3) curls beneath Randolph (4) and into to the pinch post. Randolph (4) steps out and gets the pass from Conley (1). Randolph (4) then hits Prince (3).
Conley (1) cuts opposite corner and Allen (2) raises. Randolph (4) cuts to the opposite block and 5 (Gasol) comes on his heels to set a snug screen for Prince (3). Prince looks to dump down to either of the big men on the blocks or to shooters opposite.
