One of the Aces' go to sets, this pinch post series begins with a rip screen to get clean catches for players ready to attack. All the action goes to the rim with limited options or need for shooting long jumpers. Use this set to isolate a player who can face up and attack from 15 feet, your best shooter setting screens and popping, and your best slashers getting to the rim off handoffs and ball screens.

Rip (up screen, back screen) entry building block:
3 starts on the block on the same side as 5.
1 enters the ball to the lone high post player, in this case 4. 1 cuts over 4 to take defense away and initiate possible handoff.
4 pivots to face the rim as soon as 1 clears.
On the catch, 3 rip screens for 5 and pops out. 5 flashes hard to the basket.
4's first look is a pass straight to 5 for a wide open layup. If the defense switches the screen or doubles the scorer coming off after setting the screen, there is no help.

1 enters the ball to the lone high post player, in this case 4. 1 cuts over 4 to take defense away and initiate possible handoff.
4 pivots to face the rim as soon as 1 clears.
On the catch, 3 rip screens for 5 and pops out. 5 flashes hard to the basket.
4's second look is a quick pass to the shooter who just set the screen. For the Aces, this is usually 8th leading scorer in the league Kayla McBride.

1 enters the ball to the lone high post player, in this case 4. 1 cuts over 4 to take defense away and initiate possible handoff.
4 pivots to face the rim as soon as 1 clears.
On the catch, 3 rip screens for 5 and pops out. 5 flashes hard to the basket.
If x3 and x5 navigate the rip screen correctly, the Aces then flow into a DHO from 4 to 3 at the top of the key.
4 sets the ball screen and short rolls as 3 attacks the rim. 5 spaces up the lane into space for a dumpoff.

3 starts on the block on the same side as 5.
1 enters the ball to the lone high post player, in this case 4. 1 cuts over 4 to take defense away and initiate possible handoff.
4 pivots to face the rim as soon as 1 clears.
On the catch, 3 rip screens for 5 and pops out. 5 flashes hard to the basket.
In transition, the rim runner (5) and the trailer (3) will be in the "wrong" spot. The Aces solve this with a Ricky, or re-screen to create a quick advantage for the 5 at the elbow.
After the re-screen, the 5 will post up for an iso in the mid-post area off a feed from 3.
Instead of a pass into the 4, off the rip screen 3 may receive a reversal from 1 at the top of the key.
3 feeds 5 at the pinch post and explodes past her defender to take a handoff from 5 to get to the rim.
If 3 does not take the handoff, 5 can face up and attack the advantage gained 1 on 1 with her defender.
