We think of "Second Cutting" as what we do when the ball has been driven and stopped. Our "First Cut" is our spacing on the drive, and then our "Second Cut" is our reaction if that drive is stopped. These are not predetermined cuts but ones made based on the decisions our own defender makes. These are two ways we drill this scenario in a Short-Sided Game setting. A. x1 starts on the offensive player's hip
B. 1 drives as x1 attempts to stop the ball
C. 1 reads the ball side help defense, 2 makes either a backdoor cut or a kick up cut
D. 3 back fills to the slot
3 v 3 Wing Drive:
A. X1 starts on the hip of the ball
B. 1 drives the nail, as x1 attempts to stop the ball
C. 1 reads the ball side help defense, 3 makes either a backdoor cut or a kick up cut
D. 2 back fills the slot
