Today's Focus: Baseline Out of Bounds Sets that help with Set Up on the floor, communicating with hand signals the 'Call' itself and being effective at the same time with the design. Simple? Yes...but effective when done correctly. Typically, we will go with a different core of 3-5, similar set up, each season. We have specials too, but these here will be our staples pending the season. These are typical sets we run over the summer too as they are EASY to remember.
Frame 1 + 2 = Stack 1, Frame 3 + 4 = Stack 2 and Frame 5 + 6 = Stack 3
Soon... a BOX Series, a Shapes Series and a Letter Series of BLOB plays from me.
Any questions, please follow me @CoachEdens and shoot me a message and I'd be glad to help.
STACK 1- 1 yells 'GO' as 5 releases ball side to receive pass. 4 needs to face 1 just in case for a quick lob, but to also set up pending seal. M or Z BLOB. [Frames 1 and 2]
4 waits for 3 to raise up free throw line extended and 1 to chase out to the opposite side. Once that takes place...4 seals their defender and receives Hi-Lo pass for a score.
STACK 2- 1 yells 'GO'. 2 releases corner, 3 is a safety. 4 Pins and Seals 5's defender on a switch as 5 curls over the top! M or Z BLOB. [Frames 3 and 4]
OPTIONS- Cuts in this order... 2, 3, 4, 5 a 1/2 second apart. Subtle wrinkle, adjustment pending how teams play you.
STACK 3- Best vs. Zone, but 2 cuts ballside corner. 3 is right off of 5's shoulder hoping outside defender chases. 4 comes right down lane line as it forces a 4 on 3? [Frames 5 and 6]
If X5 wants to chase 3 (shooter), let them and 5 slips to the basket for easy score. 4 is forced to guard 2 players or 3 is left open for 3. 2 will release to the top for a safety pass.
