The Dallas Mavericks used the SLOB play with the score tied and 6.7 seconds left in the 2017 Orlando NBA Summer League championship game against the Detroit Pistons. The Mavericks only needed a 2 and were looking for an opportunity to attack the basket for a layup, foul, or create an open shot. 1 occupied his defender by staying in the backcourt, creating more space for 4 to attack off the handoff. 4 drove to the basket and created a shot for 5 for the game winning shot.
