About This Play/Drill

With 3:25 left in the game v. Kent State, UCLA ran this quick hitter to get Bryce Alford (2) a good look at a three, as well as a short roll for their skilled big man Welsh (5). UCLA uses Alford as the initial ball screener, freeing him up to come off a flare screen in a screen the screener action for a quick look at the rim. The 5 will end the play with a turnaround ball screen and short roll for a jumper.

  • 1 dribbles at the 2 who v-cuts into a ball screen.

     

    2 holds the screen for a beat, then sprints off flare screen from 5, receiving skip pass from 1. 2 looks to shoot on the catch, if possible.

     

    3 clears to the opposite corner to open up the entire left side.

  • 5 turns around and sets an inside ball screen for 2 on the catch.

     

    2 attacks middle and hits 5 on the short roll for a quick jumper.
