About This Play/Drill

For this play you want to make sure that your two man is your best shooter/scorer. When he cuts off of the flare screen it may be over played, he has to do a good job of setting his defender up with 4 rescreening for a pin down. Your 3 man has to be able to make decisions and reads with 2 cutting off of the flare, and then the pin down, and the 4 man diving hard to the rim after the pin down screen. This play is from the 2010-2011 Houston Rockets season.

1. 1 dribbles down, 3 cuts off of 5's pin down.

Option 1 - 1 passes to 3 for a shot.

2. 2 cuts off of 4's flare screen.

Option 2 - 3 passes to 2 for a shot.
1. If 2 is not open off of the flare screen, he sets his defender up, 4 rescreens with a pin down screen and 2 cuts off of the pin down screen.

Option 1 - 3 passes to 2 off of the pin down screen.

2. 4 dives hard to the rim after setting a pin down for 2.

Option 2 - 3 passes to 4 for a lay up.
