  • Shallow Cut

Using shallow cuts can serve to distort the zone as well

1 dribbles at 2 (corner penetration)

2 makes a "two gap" shallow cut to fill the top gap for ball reversal

  • Shallow Cut (cont.)

1 follows the rule of always pass against the grain or your dribble vs 2-3 zone and finds 2 in the top gap.

2 may then gap dribble or quickly reverse to lift the wing and expand the short corner

  • Loop

Loops are the inverse of shallow cuts

2 dribbles at the top sending 1 on a two gap LOOP to the wing filling the side gap.

  • Loop

As X1 moves with 2 on the dribble 2 "throws back" to 1 in the side gap following the rule of always passing against the grain of your dribble vs. 2-3 zone

This forces wing defender (X4) to close to 1 thus expanding the short corner
