This play is being run more and more by professional teams. This play allows for an open post look and the use of a ball screen that spreads the defense.

Frame 1
#1 starts by going downhill and rubbing off of #5.
On the play, #1 can attack the basket for a lay-up, pull up for a three-point shot if the defense goes under the ball screen, dump the ball off to #5 rolling to the basket, or kick the ball out to #2 or #3 depending on whose man comes to help.
#4 must fill the slot on his side, but will not do so until #1 has used the screen.
Frame 2
If #1 is denied the ball screen set by #5, he will dribble under it and attack the basket.
On the play, #1 can attack the basket for the lay-up or kick the ball out to either #2, #3, or #4 depending on whose man comes to help first.
#1 must get as close to #5 as possible so as to keep #4's defender at bay.
