The Memphis Grizzlies use this play during the 2014/2015 NBA season to create a post up for their big man. The back screen into pin down decoy makes the subsequent screen the screener action work.
FRAME 1:
- 4 (RANDOLPH) SETS A BACK SCREEN FOR 2 (LEE)
- 2 (LEE) CUTS TO THE BASKET
- 4 (RANDOLPH) TURNS AROUND AND SETSA PIN DOWN FOR 2 (LEE) COMING OFF AGAIN
- 5 (GASOL) SETS A BACK SCREEN FOR 4 (RANDOLPH) WHO CUTS TO THE POST
- AFTER SETTING THE SCREEN 4 (GASOL) FLASHES TO THE HIGH POST
FRAME 2:
- 1 (CONLEY) RUNS A BASELINE SPEED CUT TO THE OPPOSITE WING
- 3 (ALLEN) SETS A FLARE SCREEN FOR 2 (LEE) WHO FADES TO THE CORNER
- 3 (ALLEN) SLIPS TO THE BASKET AFTER SETTING THE SCREEN
FRAME 3:
- 5 (GASOL) AND 1 (CONLEY) RUN A DRIBBLE HANDOFF
