  • SLIP

X4 shows on the cutter or leaves the rim unprotected

Switching teams also are vulnerable to the slip

  • FILL

    X4 protects against the slip

1 does not take ball to action

  • FILL (Continued)

4 squares the top with a second cut to the high elbow

  • SPACE OPPOSITE

1 takes the ball past the midline in an attempt to shorten the pass to the cutter

  • SPACE OPPOSITE (continued)

1 can take the ball to the cutter or turn it back to the screener who "spaces opposite"

  • RESCREEN

X4 sets the flare with the ball on the wing (too early!)

  • RESCREEN

4 rescreens when ball is dribbled or passed (shown) to the high elbow

  • FLARE AND ROLL

1 makes long pass to cutter

4 rolls off the flare into the open block
